President Emmerson Mnangagwa this morning met three election observer missions from the African Union (AU), SADC and COMESA, which briefed him on their deployment ahead of Monday’s harmonised elections.

AU Head of the observer mission, Mr Haile Mariam Dessalegn said the incumbent government has a double role in that while participating in the elections, it has to ensure that resources are available and ensuring a condusive environment.

He briefed the President on the observer mission’s deployment plan which comprises a long term observation team and a long term one which leaves on the 14th after observing the post election period.

Head of the SADC team, Mr Tete Antonio and his group also briefed the President on their activities.
