President Emmerson Mnangagwa is attending the BRICS outreach dialogue meeting that is underway at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.

The meeting is looking at opportunities for partnerships between African countries and Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, otherwise known as BRICS countries.

The collaboration between African countries and BRICS countries is expected to bring about concrete measures that can address challenges faced by developing nations in their productive sectors.

More than 1 000 delegates including heads of state and business leaders are attending the meeting which started on Wednesday and ends today.

Earlier this morning BRICS leaders adopted the Johannesburg Declaration, which is putting emphasis on fair trade, sustainable development and an inclusive economy.
