They say catch them young when supporting the promotion of sporting activities at grassroots level, and this is what Divine Beginners did when they hosted a pre-school sports festival over the weekend.
Four early child hood development schools battled it out in a sports festival held at the Aquatic Complex in Chitungwiza over the weekend.
Pupils participated in indoor games, soccer and netball among other sporting disciplines.
Officiating at the event education officer in charge of early child hood development, Emily Gondo said it was impressive to note that even pre-schools were complying with the new curriculum that advocates for a sound and firm foundation of engaging ECD pupils in sport.
“The passion begins here and what is key is encouragement and support which can then mould renowned sport personalities,” said school assistant director, Chiedza Mandizvidza.
Participating pre-schools included Chawira Kids Centre from Sunningdale, Bethel Academy from Hatcliffe and Ruth Pre-school of Greencroft.
