The launch of the Ecosystem Based Adaptation for Food Security in Zimbabwe chapter is expected to unlock sustainable agro-value addition in the country as it targets to empower the youth and rural folk through various income generating synergies.

EBAFOSA which is a vehicle to domesticate relevant continental and global blueprints on leveraging ecosystem for food security is expected to be the engine of job creation for youth through facilitating partnerships and networking with private sector for economic development noted Africa regional climate change coordinator Dr Richard Munang.

EBAFOSA Zimbabwe Chapter president Mr Desire Nemashakwe says uplifting the livelihood of people of Zimbabwe is anchored on agriculture, hence the newly industrialised middle-income and entire agro-value chain can be transformed through launch of EBAFOSA in Zimbabwe.

EBAFOSA was established 16 months ago in Nairobi, Kenya where representatives from across Africa including Zimbabwe adopted the Nairobi action agenda and the constitution established it as an inclusive pan-African policy framework and implementation platform.
