The Easter darts tournament got underway in Mvurwi, Mashonaland Central, today with all 10 provinces represented at the annual darts extravaganza.
Addressing players at the official opening ceremony National Darts Association of Zimbabwe President Meynard Moyo elaborated on the importance of developing darts and removing the myth of darts as a sport most suitable for beer halls.
The Minister of State for Mashonaland Central province Advocate Martin Dinha hailed the Easter tournament as he outlined the drive to ensure the growth of the sport in the province.
Mashonaland West province are the Easter darts tournament defending champions with Midlands province being the reigning champions in the women’s category.
The two provinces, however, face a stern test in their bid to retain their respective titles.
