60 percent of youths are involved in the drug abuse menace due to peer pressure.
A local organisation Communities Against Red Drug Substance Abuse (CADASA) Trust says it is going to launch the red ribbon week campaign on the 28th of this month to raise awareness on the effects of drug abuse.
The trust executive director, Mrs Mazvita Shonhiwa noted they are engaging youths in different parts of the country.
Mrs Shonhiwa also said the laws that prohibit the use of drugs such as marijuana should be looked at since new substances are emerging.
The red ribbon week campaign will be launched in Mufakose and will be running under the theme, “Drugs Ruin Families, Communities and Lives, Say No To It”.
