A high powered delegation from DRC’s ruling party, People’s Party for Reconstruction and Democracy (PPRD) Youth League has pledged to work with the Zanu PF Youth League and learn how the youths are implementing national policies.

The PPRD Youth League president Cde Patrick Nkanga made the remarks when he and his deputy paid a courtesy call on Zanu PF Secretary for Youth Affairs, Cde Kudzanai Chipanga to deliver their congratulatory message on the occasion of President Mugabe’s 93rd birthday.

The delegation of youth leaders from DRC president, Joseph Kabila however failed to make it on time for President Mugabe’s birthday celebrations held in Matopo on Saturday.

Today, Cde Nkanga and his deputy Cde Kabala Dada delivered their solidarity message to Cde Chipanga at his party offices.

Cde Nkanga said President Mugabe is a revered statesman and has done a lot for the continent in general and DRC in particular such that the youths from their party PPRD felt it necessary to be part of celebrations to honour and celebrate the life of an icon.

‘Strive for unity of purpose, remain united and keep the party intact’ was the message from the Congolese youth leaders, who also pledged to continue working closely with Zanu PF youths.

Cde Chipanga said it is important for young people within the revolutionary parties to share solidarity as all liberation movements have a common history.

Several representatives from a number of political parties from the region attended President Mugabe’s 93rd birthday celebrations in Matopo.
