The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Constitutional Court has upheld the victory of opposition candidate, Felix Tshisekedi in the just ended presidential elections.

The court rejected an appeal by Tshisekedi’s fellow opposition presidential candidate, Martin Fayulu, saying he had failed to prove that the election commission had announced false results.

It went on to declare Tshisekedi president by simple majority.

Tshisekedi is now expected to be sworn in within 10 days.
