There was drama at Conway College in Harare when Beta Holdings netball team manager, Rosaria Falanando could not stomach what she felt was unfair officiating and head-butted the umpire, Lovemore Chifamba in a match pitting her club against Manyame Falcons yesterday.

The match started fairly with the hosts, Beta Holdings dominating in most parts of the game.

Tension, however, arose in the last quarter when the visitors, Manyame Falcons made a comeback from trailing 29-32 to level matters before outclassing the hosts during the final stages of the last quarter.

Beta Holdings team manager, Falanando was not amused by the umpire’s decision, prompting her to charge towards him two minutes before the final whistle and forcing the match to go for a temporary break.

The match resumed after five minutes with Manyame Falcons grabbing the late winner to win the match 40-38.

Speaking to the ZBC News soon after the match, Beta Holdings coach, Daniel Dhauya and captain, Caroline Musemwa felt their team lost the match due to unfair officiating.
