The Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Cde Monica Mutsvangwa has described the late multi-award winning author, Dr Charles Mungoshi as a versatile and prolific writer.
Speaking during a church service for Dr Mungoshi in Chitungwiza this afternoon, Minister Mutsvangwa, who was in the company of her husband Ambassador Chris Mutsvangwa and the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mr Nick Mangwana said the literary giant has left us a very rich heritage.
“He was a prolific and multi-award winning novelist, poet, short story writer and actor who was internationally recognized and celebrated,” she said.
Director of the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) Dr Nicholas Moyo, Chairperson of the Zimbabwe Writers Association Monica Cheru and world renowned author Phylis Johnson all described Dr Mungoshi as a focused and talented writer and called on the responsible authorities to ensure that his works benefit his family.
ZBC CEO, Mr Patrick Mavhura, who was also part of the people who attended the church service, pledged to provide food at the funeral as ZBC’s appreciation to Dr Mungoshi’ s literary works.
