The 2018 drag racing series held at Donnybrook kicked off to a fantastic start with the introduction of the nationals which were dominated by Bulawayo racers and was won by the Castrol Mr2.
More than 3000 drag racing fans thronged Donnybrook to watch the 70 plus competitors in non-stop racing action.
Zimbabwe Motorsport Federation meeting secretary Susan Zevgolis said Bulawayo racers stole the limelight in a competition that also saw the introduction of the nationals.
“We are ecstatic about today’s event which saw us introduce the nationals,” said Zevgolis.
Zimbabwe Motorsport Federation Media Liaison Themba Mazvimbakupa said fans were treated to some fine motor skills with the purpose built V8 meathanol dragster rail car making a debut performance.
“We are glad our fans were captivated by our racers and the methanol dragster ran a fastest time,” said Mazvimbakupa.
The methanol dragster ran the fastest time of the day of 10.3 seconds.
The nationals were won by the Castrol Mr2.
