Zanu PF Wedza District has been rocked by divisions pitting sitting mps and aspiring candidates, and threatening to further split the party.

Wedza South legislator Cde Michael Madanha and Provincial Youth member Cde Tino Machakaire are set to go head to head in the fight for the seat, while in Wedza North, sitting legislator Cde David Musabayana and provincial member Cde Antony Parehwa, who is eying the seat, are at loggerheads.

The divisions have also sucked in some traditional leaders and war veterans.

Zanu PF leadership led by Mashonaland East Provincial Women’s League Chairperson, Cde Appolonia Munzverengwi expressed concern over the divisions which they say are threatening the unity of the party.

Zanu PF Provincial Chairperson, Cde Joel Biggie Matiza warned those campaigning that they risk facing disciplinary action as their actions are against the party’s electoral rules and regulations.

The Zanu PF provincial leadership is on a tour of the province to explain the state of the party to grassroots members after the new dispensation.

The revolutionary party has also kick-started the restructuring programme beginning at cell level.
