rural soccer.jpgThe ZIFA Central Region officially crowned their Division Two champions, Platinum U-19 and Gokwe Pirates amid praises from stakeholders that the Zvishavane based club is modelling a good project on how premiership clubs can run away from money spending tendencies on players.

Officially crowning the two champions, stakeholders hailed the Zvishavane-based under 19 squad for its successful feat, which saw them beat 13 other teams to win promotion into the first division.

They challenged other teams to take a cue from Platinum FC if clubs are ever to ease themselves from financial burdens associated with player acquisitions.

Platinum U-19 emerged winners from the region’s League A, with Midlands State University finishing as runners up.

From League B, Gokwe Pirates scooped the coveted ticket ahead of Munyati Tigers.

The pronouncement of first division football in Gokwe brings the hope of discovering yet other stars like Energy Murambadoro.
