The diplomatic community resident in Zimbabwe has commended the peaceful transition and the swearing in of the new President Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa.
The foreign representatives and heads of multi-lateral institutions pledged to continue working with Zimbabwe.
The diplomatic community came out in full force to witness a new era in the history of Zimbabwe as Cde Mnangagwa was sworn in as the second Executive President of Zimbabwe since independence in 1980 to lead the country.
Ambassadors and heads of key multilateral institutions interviewed by the ZBC News were unanimous in praising Zimbabwe for navigating the political terrain peacefully and within the provisions of the constitution.
American Ambassador Harry Thomas Junior and European Union head of delegation Philippe Van Damme both congratulated Zimbabwe adding they will work with the country in fostering economic development as set out by President Mnangagwa in his speech.
UN resident coordinator Bishow Parajuli and Italian Ambassador Enrico de Agostini said Zimbabwe has proved to be exemplary to the rest of the world in their conduct over the past eventful two weeks.
Ambassador Huang Po of China, Zimbabwe’s all weather-friend said the country remains committed to support its endeavours just as it was in the past.
The inauguration address by President Mnangagwa was clear to the international community that Zimbabwe is ready to work with any nation in its development agenda.
