The government has lined up a number of developmental projects in Maramba Pfungwe constituency to uplift the living conditions of people in the area which stands out as one of the least developed in Mashonaland East Province.

While the people of Maramba Pfungwe are known for exercising their democratic right by turning out in their large numbers during election periods, that has not been the same in as far as development is concerned as the area has remained largely underdeveloped.

Addressing Zanu PF supporters at Chitsungo business centre, Mashonaland East Zanu PF Provincial Chairperson, Cde Joel Biggie Matiza however, said a rapid transformation is set to change the area’s outlook as the government has come up with a number of developmental projects.

“The new dispensation is aware of the challenges faced by the people in this area and has come up with a number of projects which include the refurbishment of Mrewa – Mandichecha Road, Nyatana Dam and drilling of boreholes.

Other party officials led by Provincial Vice Chairperson, Engineer Mike Madanha weighed in on the developmental agenda being undertaken by the government countrywide.

“Road construction is one of the areas we are prioritising under the new dispensation so that transport becomes cheaper,” he said.

Maramba Pfungwe legislator, Cde Tichaona Karumazondo is on record bemoaning lack of development in the area which also falls under natural region 5 and suffers from perennial food shortages and water challenges.
