Zanu PF has warned provinces to desist from purging some members from the ruling party.

Some Zanu PF Provinces have been convening provincial executive council meetings or provincial coordinating committee meetings to remove some members from the party without being sanctioned by the Zanu PF leadership.

Zanu PF spokesperson Ambassador Simon Khaya Moyo warned provincial members to desist from the purge or face disciplinary action.

He directed all provinces to stop forthwith such processes until after the extraordinary congress when the party shall issue further instructions as to procedures due for implementing central committee resolutions to provincial structures.

“Delegates to the congress, categories and numbers are already known by the provincial chairs. There is therefore no need for the current shenanigans. Anyone not heeding this directive shall face the full wrath of disciplinary action,” he said.

The Zanu PF Extraordinary Congress is scheduled to run from December 12 to 17 in Harare and preparations are in progress.
