Zimbabwe’s representatives in the Caf Champions League Dynamos Football Club finally departed for Algeria this afternoon where they are set to lock horns with Mouloudia Clube d’Alger in a crucial first round second leg encounter on Sunday.
Nervous moments eventually culminated in the departure of Dynamos Football Club for Algeria with a 24 member delegation headed by coach Lloyd Mutasa.
The Glamour Boys had initially been scheduled to have left on Wednesday afternoon but failed to secure seats for the entire squad.
Dembare’s 24 member delegation which flew out on Thursday was however without assistant gaffer Masimba Dinyero and the head of delegation. The duo is set to travel on Friday.
Despite the problems faced by the team, captain Desmond Maringwa remained optimistic of a favourable result in Algiers.
The Glamour Boys’ who will fly through France are expected to catch a connecting flight that should see them arriving in Algeria on Friday evening.
The team has been boosted by the return of Archiford Gutu who was not part of the action in the first leg.
Gutu who has struck a telepathic understanding with compatriot Denver Mukamba is expected to combine well with Rodrick Mutuma to find the vital away goal.
Dynamos carry a 4-1 lead from the first leg played a fortnight ago at Rufaro Stadium.
