valerio sibanda.jpgThe Zimbabwe Defence Forces have vowed to remain resolute in protecting the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty even in the face of adversity from western nations.

This was announced by the Zimbabwe National Army Commander, Lieutenant-General Phillip Valerio Sibanda, at 1 Parachute Regiment 30th anniversary commemoration held at Inkomo Barracks.

Lt.Gen Sibanda called on the special forces to defend Zimbabwe by remaining loyal and vigilant.

The Commanding Officer for the Zimbabwe Parachute Regiment, Lt.Col Philip Kupe said the duty of soldiers is to defend the country at all costs even during challenging times.

The Zimbabwe Parachute Regiment commemorations are an annual event held to honour paratroopers who died in battle.

The 30th anniversary celebrations also witnessed the conferment of medals to soldiers who excelled in various sporting disciplines and military activities which saw Bravo Company scooping the Champion Award for excelling in most disciplines.
