The national  dam level average has risen to 67,6%, marking a 1,4% increase from last week following the wet spell currently being experienced in many parts of the country.

Major dams such as Mazvikadei, Chivero, Manyame, Biri, Karoi, Kushinga-Phikhelela and Mtshabezi have recorded an increase in water levels.

ZINWA Corporate Communications and Marketing Manager, Marjorie Munyonga said the rains have come at the right time as farmers will take advantage of the improvement in water levels.

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Climate has since called for water harvesting projects in order to maintain and sustain the natural resources and ensure food security in the country.
