Following industrial constraints for the greater part of the year, Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries is seeking ways of unlocking funding from government schemes and other institutions following several bilateral arrangements where some countries pledged to assist in promoting economic growth.

In an interview with ZBC News, Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries President, MrJoseph Kanyekanye said the economy requires US$2 billion to boost industrial operations hence the need to engage the South African counterparts on the availing of 500 million rand facility and other countries that pledged to assist in 2009.

Mr. Kanyekanye said the facility will assist in the acquisition of machinery in all sectors of the economy for economic growth.

The move by CZI is set to play an integral role in boosting capacity utilisation within industries which are operating at 43.7 % and will also ensure the continuous power supply which has been cited as the missing link in fostering economic development.
