bread.jpgThe Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Enterprise Development has called for an urgent meeting with various stakeholders in response to the recent increase in the price of bread.

Zimbabweans this Sunday woke up to a new price of bread with a loaf now costing $1 from 90 cents, and from $1 to $1.10 respectively, and the government has immediately called for a meeting today to discuss the development.

In a statement to the ZBC News, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Enterprise Development said the meeting will be held at the ministry’s offices at Mukwati Building in Harare.

Stakeholders expected to attend the meeting are: Confederations of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI), Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC), Grain Millers Association of Zimbabwe, National Bakers Association, Consumer Council of Zimbabwe (CCZ), Small Bakers Association of Zimbabwe, Confederation of Zimbabwe Retailers and the Retailers Association of Zimbabwe.
