The Zimbabwe women’s cricket team is taking positives out of their South African tour after overcoming Ireland twice.

The team returned home on Monday from a quadrangular series in South Africa.

Despite returning home with 5 defeats and 2 victories, team captain Sharne Meyers was pleased with an experience which saw them for the first time overcoming Ireland.

In other encounters, Zimbabwe lost to India and South Africa twice before missing out on third place after succumbing to a loss at the hands of Ireland on Sunday.

Zimbabwe did not qualify for the 2017 women’s World Cup to be held in June but the women’s side were handed an opportunity of playing higher ranked nations as the side looks to build for future events and push for ODI status.
