The Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) has been urged to continue supporting the constitutionally elected government which is working tirelessly to improve the standards of living of Zimbabweans.
Addressing members of the ZNA at the Inter-Formation and Drill Competition prize giving ceremony held at 4 Infantry Battalion in Masvingo, ZNA Chief of Staff – Quartermaster Staff, Major General Hlanganani Tapson Dube said the ZNA command element is aware of the socio-economic challenges that have bedevilled the country.
He urged the ZNA to remain resolute and to continue supporting the government of Zimbabwe.
“We remain confident that the socio-economic environment will gradually improve in response to the new dispensation’s Zimbabwe is Open for Business mantra and a broad range of policies that have been enacted to stimulate economic growth,” he said.
Ensuring discipline, obedience and alertness was the ZNA training directive for 2018.
“You agree with me that the drill is an important tool in achieving objectives in the ZNA. This year’s competition had 1200 participants from all over the country and the competition was loaded with several demanding drill activities that were conducted in 10 days,” Major General Dube added.
The overall winner of the 6th edition of the ZNA Inter-Formation and Drill Competition was 4 Infantry Brigade and the brigade walked away with the Army Sergeant Major (ASM) trophy.
