czi president.jpgThe Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI) is currently engaging the government and multi-national companies in a bid to unlock lines of credit for the manufacturing sector.

Speaking to ZBC News, CZI President, Mr Joseph Kanyekanye said the government should speed up its efforts of concluding its bilateral agreements with Botswana to enable industry to access a 500 million pula line of credit.

He said South Africa promised US$2 billion dollars to support the local industry and Mr Kanyekanye urged the government to conclude the negotiations for the industry to grow.

Liquidity problems have hampered the growth of industry and at least a US$2 billion cash injection is needed to get a 100% capacity utilisation.
