An accelerated community empowerment programme set to transform the state of community gardening in Mutasa district has been rolled out by the Zanu PF Politburo member and Minister of Environment, Water and Climate, Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri.
“It is a project that should ignite an all year round gardening programme that will in the end empower the community,” said Cde Muchinguri-Kashiri during the official launch held at Mutasa district council. The launch coincided with the handing over a consignment of equipment and other items to Mutasa Central constituency.
Mutasa North legislator, Cde Luke Masamvu also took the opportunity to inform the minister that a number of infrastructure development projects such as water harvesting, fishery and bridges construction have been completed in line with the government vision.
Mutasa Central constituency coordinator, Mr Oliver Sakupwanya commended Cde Muchinguri-Kashiri for the developmental programme which he says will certainly better the lives of the Mutasa community.
The consignment of equipment and items ranges from computers, wheelchairs, blankets, generators, water pumps, solar lighting systems, and a brand new constituency vehicle .
At the same meeting more than 115 community members received certificates from the Environment Management Agency after completing the fire management training programme.
