The 4th edition of the Commander Air Force of Zimbabwe (AFZ) charity golf tournament has been held at the Police Club in Harare this Friday.
A total of 45 teams battled in the AFZ charity golf tournament aimed at raising funds for the construction of infrastructure in some remote parts of the country, says Air Marshal Perrence Shiri who was among the players.
“This event is there to target disadvantaged communities in particular the girl child. We are raising funds towards assisting remote areas,” he said.
Proceeds from the charity golf tournament will be channelled towards the construction of a secondary school in Murongwe Mashonaland West.
Following the construction of a primary school by the AFZ which was officially commissioned by President Robert Mugabe on the 28th of October 2016, the villagers implored the AFZ to construct a secondary school.
Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services Commissioner, Paradzayi Zimondi was also among the contestants.
