COMESA agro dealers have been urged to continuously work closely with respective governments to ensure equitable growth in the agricultural sector.
The five day COMESA Agro Dealer Workshop came to an end in Harare this Friday with participants being called upon to continuously engage their governments towards boosting productivity in the agricultural sector.
In an interview with ZBC News, Alliance for Commodity Trade in Eastern and Southern Africa (ACTESA) Communications Manager, Mr Retlaw Matorwa said involvement of governments in agriculture is critical towards boosting food security.
The COMESA Agro Dealer Programme seeks to compliment government and the private sectorâ€™s efforts towards ensuring sustainability in the agricultural sector.
The Agro Dealer Workshop attracted delegates from COMESA member states with a view to deliberate on issues affecting the growth of the agricultural sector as well as ways of improving productivity.
Working with small-holder farmers in opening new markets also came under spotlight during the five day workshop.
