Apex Council representative, Mr. Sifiso Ndlovu said civil servants should report for duty while negotiations with the employer continue.

Mr. Ndlovu added that Tuesday’s meeting is expected to mark the end of talks between them and government as they expect the National Joint Negotiating Council to come up with a meaningful offer.

The salary stand-off between government and the civil service has been going on for the last two weeks.

Last week, the Apex Council called for a one week strike to compel government to address their concerns.

However on Wednesday, the NJNC presented US$240 million for the whole of the civil service which the Apex Council rejected.
