harare_city logo.jpgThe Harare City Council has been called on to get down to business and prioritise sewer reticulation and open up the capital’s drainage system ahead of the rainy season.

This is to avoid artificial floods which have caused traffic chaos during such times in the past.

A Rural and Urban Planning Lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe, Mr. Nelson Chanza said the city fathers should come up with a long-term solution to the problem.

An Urban Planner, Mr. Philos Moyo implored the city fathers to improve waste collection as it is the garbage that at times fill up drains.

During the rainy season, the Central Business District becomes an eye sore especially down town as most roads will be water-logged.
