africa unity square.jpgHarare residents are up in arms with city fathers for failing to maintain recreational parks most of which have become garbage dumb, thieves’ dens and love nests.
People who spoke to ZBC News at the Africa Unity square appealed to government officials to read the riot act to the city fathers so that they can bring sanity to the country’s recreational parks.

Environment and Natural Resources Management Minister, Francis Nhema said his ministry is concerned with the current state of recreational parks in most towns and cities.

He urged responsible authorities to revamp parks and restore them to being family recreational parks.

Cde Nhema said heaps of uncollected rubbish in parks, residential areas and around the central district centres will fuel water borne diseases as the rain season approaches.
