The voluntary medical male circumcision campaigns have been scaled up as the country targets 1.3 million men to have been circumcised by 2018.
The national target for this year stands at 322 436, the Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision Department is conducting massive campaigns in an effort to increase the number of people being circumcised.
Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision Department Manicaland Provincial Field Manager, Farai Chikupe said the campaigns that are being done in partnership with local radio stations are achieving intended results especially the partnership with the popular, Radio Zimbabwe.
“The partnership with Radio Zimbabwe is attracting huge crowds with the public response being highly positive,” said Chikupe.
Male circumcision reduces chances of one being infected by HIV, hence an important step in reducing people affected by the scourge.
