Cde Shamu made the remarks whilst addressing members of the African Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe congregating at Runyararo farm in Chegutu for their annual conference.
He said Zanu PF has had an association with the church right from its formation and as such respects the role of the church in reconciling people and promoting Christian morals and uprightness within communities.
Cde Shamu took a swipe at those advocating for homosexuality to be inculcated into the constitution and advised the church to condemn immoral practices.
Some church leaders commended efforts made by government to alleviate poverty.
This year’s African Apostolic Faith Mission Annual Conference was attended by delegates from Zambia and South Africa.
