Churches have been urged to be the centre of healing and restoration in the post election period.

The call was made by Bulawayo’s Minister of State for Provincial Affairs, Cde Judith Ncube.

Speaking at a Methodist Church in Zimbabwe (MCZ) fundraising dinner yesterday which was held at a local hotel, Cde Ncube said the church should create a nest for the vulnerable who are coming from broken families.

“We are living in a broken world with broken families. The church does not only give comfort, but also bandages the bleeding wounds and teaches the concerned individuals to fear God, shun violence and value life as a sacred gift from God. In the post-election period, the church is the centre of healing and reconciliation. As such, the coming together of the church and state on such matters gives value to the people of Zimbabwe,” she said.

The event was attended by representatives from various companies and members of the MCZ.
