Local church leaders have condemned the use of violence to settle political scores and called on the nation to nurture love and forgiveness so as to create a tranquil environment that is attractive for investment.Following a wave of violence perpetrated allegedly by the MDC-T in Harare and Kadoma, local church leaders have condemned such acts saying it is ungodly and against humanity.
The religious leaders say the church plays a social and spiritual role of creating peace and harmony within communities, adding that where disputes occur there must be a peaceful remedy.
This week saw a wave of violence in Harare where 8 people were arrested, while 12 people including an MDC-T legislator were arrested in Kadoma.
Police have confirmed that all the violent acts were perpetrated by the MDC-T.
With the country preparing to go for elections this year, the church leaders say they will continue praying for peace to prevail.
