chombo ignatius 01.09.10.jpgMinister of Local Government Urban and Rural Development,  Dr  Ignatius Chombo has urged the visiting SADC Ministers of Local Government to take time off their business schedule and enjoy the country’s hospitality through exploring the country’s tourist attraction sites.
Speaking at the luncheon of the visiting Local Government SADC leaders in Harare, Dr Chombo quashed some negative reports peddled by some sections of the media about Zimbabwe saying, it is up to the SADC Ministers to see for themselves the security and hospitality that the country has on offer.

Dr Chombo said: “Zimbabwe is a safe country  I want you to see for yourself what we have on offer.

The hospitality starts here in the capital.

“I know you guys are here for business but while we exchange notes you need to see it for yourselves what we have to offer in the tourism and hospitality industry.”

Some Western  sponsored media have been painting a bad picture about the country’s security situation in support of their pay masters  economic sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe.

The two day SADC Ministers of Local Government meeting is expected to discuss the institutionalization of Local Government as a sub-committee of the regional body in a bid to enhance cooperation within the region.
