Chitungwiza residents have demonstrated against the management over poor service delivery and allegations of corruption.
Before coming to terms with the attachment and removal of property, the Chitungwiza City Council management saw residents demonstrating, demanding an end to poor service delivery, corruption and mismanagement of resources.
The office of the Chamber Secretary was closed purportedly on condition of weather and indeed there was ‘thunderstorm and lightning,’ as hundreds of residents holding placards, singing, demanding the dismissal of the management camped at the gate.
The residents have since written a petition to the Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing, Cde Saviour Kasukuwere seeking his urgent intervention
All the parking bays were empty and there was no furniture in the offices after the Messenger of Court mercilessly visited the local authority.
It is believed that the management is making frantic efforts to get a saver which was part of the property attached by the Messenger of Court.
