A Chitungwiza 3 year old girl is set to undergo a heart operation at an Indian hospital after the Lotteries and Gaming Board undertook to fund the surgery.

The official send off was held at the Ministry of Home Affairs Offices in Mkwati Building in the capital where the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary who is also  the Lotteries and Gaming Board Ex Officio Board Member, Mr. Melusi Matshiya told members of the media and the girls’ family members that the decision to fund the surgery was reached after a thorough vetting process.

Speaking on behalf of the family, the girl’s grandmother Lenny Ndlovu expressed gratitude for the assistance saying the surgery to be done is meant to correct a heart valve that is not working.

The girl will travel with her mother to India where surgery will be carried out to correct the complication which was diagnosed by local doctors.
