The people of Mkwasini in Chiredzi have high hopes that the incoming government will address a myriad of challenges they are faced with, among them poor roads, limited education and health infrastructure.

This follows last month’s harmonised elections which saw Zanu PF winning.

Speaking during a meeting with the newly elected National Assembly member for Chiredzi North, Roy Bhila, farmers and residents representatives said they are looking forward to see investments trickling into their area and improved social service delivery.

Bhila said he will ensure that he delivers his promises in accordance with the confidence that was bestowed on him.

“These people showed that they have confidence in me and I will work hard to ensure we deliver together. There are a number of issues which require urgent attention which include addressing human and wildlife conflict, infrastructure development and addressing farmers’ challenges. Remember this area solely depends on agriculture, that is sugarcane and cotton farming, among others,” he said.

Zanu PF won all the four constituencies in Chiredzi.
