It was the 2018 Jikinya Dance Festival which was held in Beitbridge this time and Mashonaland Central’s Chipindura Primary walked away the winners.

Guest of honour at the event Mrs Tumisang Thabela who is the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education said there is no greater unifier than music which cuts across all ethnic and cultural differences.

Being Zimbabwe’s rainbow province where almost all languages are spoken, Matabeleland South provided an interesting platform for the young learners to showcase their talents.

The common dance for all competitors was muchongoyo.

The competitors then picked up their own chosen dances in round two.

Other winners included Mhanyame from Mashonaland West, St Joseph’s from Mashonaland East and Harare Province’s ZRP Support Unit Primary School.
