The Salvation Army Chinhoyi Citadel pastor, Captain Kumbirai Kazembe, has recovered his vehicle which he lost to robbers last week.

The vehicle, a Nissan Liberty, was found in Norton, some 200 metres away from the Robert Mugabe highway.

The robbers made off with the car after they had ransacked the pastors’ house last week, in a heist which saw victims being tied by the hands and legs using electric and phone battery charger cables.

Captain Kazembe said the vehicle was left parked on the road with keys on the ignition and an alert passerby had to inform the police.

“The vehicle must have been abandoned after it ran out of fuel,” said Captain Kazembe.

The robbers gained entry into the clergyman’s house through the window, tied the pastor, his wife and a cadet pastor before they ransacked the house and made off with valuables such as cash, mobile phones and laptops, in addition to the recovered vehicle.
