xin shun kang.jpgChinese government has availed US$14 million which is expected to assist some disadvantaged families in Zimbabwe. The funds are part of the Chinese government’s programme to provide relief aid to African countries.

The announcement was made by Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr. Xin Shunkang, who said it is part of the Chinese government’s programme to provide relief aid to African countries.

 

He said the US$14 million availed to Zimbabwe will be used to source food for poverty stricken families in some parts of the country who were affected by drought.

Ambassador Shunkang said the funds are ready to be accessed and the disbursement of the food commodities in and around the country will start as soon as possible.

 

The latest development reinforces Zimbabwe-China relations where the two countries continue to share strong political, social and economic ties.
