A 30 member Chinese business delegation has arrived in Zimbabwe to explore investment opportunities and fulfill pledged deals.

The delegation, which arrived on Monday, is expected to hold talks with senior government officials and the private sector on issues relating to project proposals.

Leader of the delegation, the Governor of Anhui Province, Mr Zhou Xian told officials from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in Harare that they are interested in key economic sectors that can increase exports.

“We are looking at the possibilities of increasing trade opportunities for the benefit of Zimbabwe,” he said.

The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Cde Nqobizita Ndlovu said the visit also reaffirms commitment by the Chinese business delegation to assess viable projects, partner local companies, inject capital on several projects.

“We want them and it is our hope that the local industry will also take advantage of that,” he said.

China and Zimbabwe’s business deals are signal commitment by the two nations to foster economic relations through the implementation of established and pledged projects or deals.
