Justice and Legal Affairs Minister Patrick Chinamasa has condemned corruption in the judiciary system, which he says remains the biggest challenge which the country should urgently and adequately address.
Cde Chinamasa was speaking to ZBC News at the Zimbabwe Staff College after giving a lecture on the Justice System in Zimbabwe to the Joint Staff Course Number 25.
The Minister lamented the level of corruption within the country’s judicial system, saying there is need for a collective approach in addressing the vice.
Cde Chinamasa also expressed concern that while the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs is faced with many challenges of maintaining a credible and fool proof justice delivery system, lack of funds continues to hamper progress in that endeavour.
Calls by Minister Chinamasa to stamp out corruption within the country’s justice delivery system come at a time when the general Zimbabwean populace is calling for the courts to uphold values of justice without compromise.
