Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr Xin Xunkang told a delegation of young farmers from Zvimba North, and other stakeholders in agriculture, who include bankers, insurers and seed producers that China will give all support required to ensure maximum productivity.

China will provide funding opportunities in agriculture through technical support and funding. There is need for young farmers to visit China to study the advanced agriculture system,” Mr Xunkang said.

Zvimba North House of Assembly Member, Dr Ignatius Chombo expressed gratitude to the support that China has rendered to local farmers.

“Farmers in Zvimba North are going to benefit a lot from technology transfer as well as China’s financing of agricultural projects,” Dr Chombo said.

Meanwhile the president of Zvimba North Constituency Young Farmers Association, Mr Chamunorwa Chibondo has urged stakeholders to urgently release funding for the winter wheat crop.

“We urge banks to release funding urgently as we have run out of time. The planting season for the winter wheat is almost over and not much has been done,” pleaded Mr Chibondo.

China’s agricultural system has attained maximum productivity through use of agricultural technology and provision of adequate funding and Zimbabwean farmers stand to benefit from the partnerships with the Chinese.
