China has pledged to continue strengthening bilateral cooperation ties with Zimbabwe in line with political relations which date back to the liberation struggle of the country.

Chinese Acting Ambassador to Zimbabwe Mr Zhao Baogang told the ZBC News on the sidelines of a farewell dinner for a Zanu PF Central Committee and youth members to China that the Asian nation is interested in forging more strategic partnerships with Zimbabwe.

“We shall continue to explore more in terms of relationships with Zimbabwe so that we can all benefit and increase economic ties,” he said.

The visit by the Zanu PF members to China will provide a platform of how they can learn on the transformation of the economy, said the Zanu PF provincial chairman for Manicaland Province Cde Mike Madiro who is the head of the delegation.

“It is an eye opener and we anticipate that it will enable them to learn more on how China transformed its economy,” he said.

Zimbabwe and China ties have swiftly moved towards economic cooperation, a move that has seen several business delegations from the world’s second largest economy visiting Zimbabwe to explore business opportunities.
