ednamadzongwe.jpgA member of the ZANU PF women’s league National Executive Cde Edna Madzongwe has commended the visiting All China Women’s Federation for supporting programs being undertaken by Zimbabwean women saying it demonstrates China’s commitment to seeing the development of women at community level.



Members of the All China Women’s delegation which is in the country to explore areas of further co-operation with ZANU PF’s Women’s League were treated to a dinner hosted by Cde Edna Madzongwe who is also President of the Senate.


Speaking at the dinner Cde Madzongwe said the mutual friendship between Zimbabwe and China will bring the two women’s wings closer economically, socially and technologically.


“I take note of the very cordial relationship between our two countries and I believe we can take advantage of this friendship to achieve more as women. Through solidarity visits, we can achieve a practical exchange of views and ideas valuable for the sustainable development of our women organisations and women,” said Cde Madzongwe.


The Chinese delegation arrived in Zimbabwe on Tuesday and held a meeting with members of the ZANU PF Women’s National Executive where they explored other areas of further cooperation.


Secretary for Information and Publicity in the Women’s League Cde Monica Mutsvangwa said the All China Women’s Federation which is the women’s wing of the communist party of china has worked closely with their Zimbabwean counterparts since independence, and the association has assisted Zimbabwean women financially and technically.


Speaking through an interpreter Head of the delegation Cde Zhen Yan who is the Vice President of All China’s Women’s Federation thanked the ZANU PF Women’s League for their hospitality and pledged China’s commitment to working with Zimbabwe.


The visit by the Chinese delegation comes at an appropriate time, as the country is currently putting up programs for women empowerment across all the sectors, with the aim of advancing women economically, socially and politically.
