China has surpassed the United States as Africaâ€™s largest trading partner and the relationship is growing at an exponential rate.
Experts say the Asian country is taking over western influence and has eclipsed by new trading relationships with the fast growing economies of Africa.
This has seen advanced economies losing out to the developing world.
A new study by Renaissance Capital, an international consultancy reveals that Chinaâ€™s cheaper manufactured and machinery imports have readily displaced more expensive western.
Chinese goods are also said to be within reach of Africaâ€™s low levels of disposable income in a way western ones are not.
Chinese lending to Africa is growing at a significant rate with both the China Development Bank and China Exim Bank having become important lenders to Africa.
