An integrated moral fibre of any society is seen in how community members cater for the needy as exhibited by the Chinese community which reached out to nine children’s homes in Harare to donate an assortment of goods.

The Chinese embassy held a children’s party at a local leisure centre, which saw nine children’s homes receiving an assortment of goods.

According to the wife of the Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mrs Wang Wei, the initiative is aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable children.

In an acceptance speech read on her behalf by Mrs Susan Ngane, the Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare, Dr Sekai Nzenza applauded the gesture, saying it is everyone’s duty to make sure that little ones are taken good care of.

The visibly elated children from various homes expressed gratitude for the kind gesture.

The children’s party is an annual event launched by the Chinese embassy in 2015.
