Zimbabwe’s broadcasting industry has a great future if talent showcased during this year’s International Children’s Day of Broadcasting is anything to go by.

Young, energetic and enthusiastic aspiring radio personalities had the rare opportunity to be closer to the microphone and showcase their abundant talents in the company of their favourite radio presenters.

It was a day with a difference as ZBC’s Power FM brought together children from different backgrounds, their parents, the station partners and some of the famous radio personalities to commemorate the special day at a popular children’s entertainment centre in Borrowdale, Harare.

From live broadcasting, swimming, snacks, dancing and slides, there was everything for everyone who graced the event.

The children expressed appreciation for the opportunity to express their broadcasting talents.

The future radio personalities concurred on the relevance of the International Children’s Day of Broadcasting in raising awareness on children issues.

The radio presenters took time to play with the children and in the process teach the young ones some of the key broadcasting skills.

Away from Borrowdale, Power FM’s sister station, Radio Zimbabwe also had a similar programme to mark the special day.

The other vent was held at ZBC Montrose studios in Bulawayo.

It was indeed an afternoon to cherish for most of the children who graced the International Children’s Day of Broadcasting commemorations.
