The government and the corporate world have been urged to change their attitude towards art which has been described as killing the arts sector.
The call was made by musician, Dr Oliver Mtukudzi during the visit to Pakare Paye Arts Theatre by the parliamentary portfolio committee on education, arts, sport and culture.
The committee went on a familiarisation tour of Pakare Paye as well as appreciating challenges faced by Zimbabwean artists.
Dr Mtukudzi urged the government and the corporate world to change their attitude towards art which he said the negative attitude has killed the sector.
After the tour parliamentarians who spoke to the ZBC News said they will take the issues raised to the parliament so that where possible they will be addressed.
The parliamentary portfolio committee on education, arts, sport and culture chairperson Cde Never Khanye said among many other issues to be taken forward is the issue of honouring Dr Mtukudzi with a diplomatic passport as he is a true ambassador of the country.
Dr Mtukudzi later treated his visitors with some music much to the appreciation of the committee members.
